Thy Word

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."(Psalm 199:105)

The word is not the path; the word ILLUMINES the path. The path is simply the way, and the way is a person - Jesus. " I am the Way..." The word illumines us on the journey toward seeing Him revealed in our lives. This is evidenced by the outflow of the Jesus who dwells in us. Jesus desires intimate communion with us and longs to direct every detail of our lives moment by moment.

We often dismiss the voice of God while clinging to the written word. We search the scriptures because we think we will find the way to eternal life through them, but they testify of Jesus alone. Jesus said that we live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Notice He said "proceeds," not past tense "proceeded." It is a living and spoken word from the mouth of God that directs us on our path. He then uses the written word to illuminate the way.
