Come and Stay

One of the things I enjoy about this ministry is getting to interact with people from a variety of countries. Though completely disconnected from each other, God works and moves in similar ways in people's lives. Recently, I received some comments from a brother in Australia and I want to share them with you. 

I really appreciated and enjoyed your tapes, especially the one with your testimony. I have always thought that if had the privilege of having a teacher stay at my house, I would want to draw out all the teaching I could. However, that would not be the most profitable. It would be better to say, "Come and stay. I don't want to talk about your ministry, your teachings, or your views. I have made plans to take you out to the beach, show you the sights, and just talk." I realized that if I got to know the person I would see their life in action. I would get the teaching and through seeing their life, would learn a great lesson. 

I found these words tremendously inspiring because they capture the essence of Jesus' heart towards us. It is His passion for us to go to Him and say, "Come and stay. I don't want anything from You, but I want to share the journey of my life with You. I want to enjoy You and get to know You and just talk with You." When we see the life of Jesus in action, we continually are learning great lessons.

Jesus' words to John the Baptist in Matthew 11:4-6 are Jesus' words to us today; "Tell them what you have heard, and seen!" Likewise John said of Jesus, "He tells what he has seen and heard…" (John 3:32) One of the greatest joys in my life is having the privilege of telling what I have seen and heard on my journey with Christ. That really is all any of us have to share. Everything else is vain concept that has not saved us from anything. Only Jesus saves us, satisfies us, and makes life complete! "Jesus, come and stay…"
