It's Not About Me!

There is a country song that says "I want to talk about me," and mine, and I etc. The song writer is saying he is sick of talking about other people and he is proclaiming loudly, "It's about ME". The song has nothing to do with Jesus, but I've thought about this a fair bit in the last month or two. As Christians we always believe that ministry is not about us, but it is about Jesus. I really believe this is true to a point, but I think we need to dig a bit deeper.

Jesus demonstrated His love for us by taking all the sin of the world upon Himself. He paid the price once and for all so that we might be reconciled to God. He didn't do that for himself, or even His Father. He did it for ME! He did it for you too. That is how much He loves us.

Can we take up the challenge to realize that ultimately this Christian life IS about us? Not so we can be preoccupied with self, but to be comfortable with self. Not to be self centered, but to be Christ centered. We are free to continually choose Christ in and through all things. This is what fulfills us, and this is what makes us say that the Christian life isn't about us. The fact that it is all centered upon Jesus shows us how much the Father loves us! The fact that it isn't about us proves it ultimately is about us!

Jesus is thinking about you, and He loves You! It is all about you! Receive His love and and think about Him. "We love because He first loved us."
