The
Queen "A king sought for a wife amongst the princesses of the land. Frustrated in his search, he went to the peasants to find a worthy woman to be queen. He found a poor beggar woman. In her he saw a heart that he loved and so he proposed to her. Sadly she rejected the proposal, saying, "Look at me, I'm not a Queen, but only a poor beggar". What made this woman a queen? Only saying yes to the proposal. When Christ offers us the free gift of righteousness, do we respond to him " I cannot accept your gift until I am more righteous"? Where does our righteousness come from? Only from saying yes to the gift that is offered, and as the peasant girl, we could find ourselves frustrated by our inward seeking, for a worthiness that we think gives God a reason to accept us. No! Don't be like the peasant girl. Don't look within yourself and wonder if you could possibly come into the presence of God. You can come if only you say "YES" to the gift that is offered freely to you, and rejoice that you are free from all efforts that once kept you away."
