Crazy!
By Mike Rule

12We are not commending ourselves to you again, but we are providing you with an occasion and incentive to be [rightfully] proud of us, so that you may have a reply for those who pride themselves on surface appearances [on the virtues they only appear to have], although their heart is devoid of them. 13For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit, 14For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died; (2 Corinthians 5:12-14 Amplified)

It is one thing to feel like you have lost your mind in the eyes of the world, but it is absolutely terrifying to know that many of our brothers and sisters in Christ wonder the same thing. If you have ever felt this way, take heart; you are not alone.

When God brought me into the revelation of Christ as my life, and the reality that HE is ALL I need, my life was slowly transformed in very profound ways. Bitterness and resentments began to ooze away, and behavioral struggles began to simply disappear. Becky saw a life that was radically transformed by God, and can testify that what I was experiencing was real. However, as I continued to walk with God and grow into deeper and deeper intimacy with Him, I began to feel like some kind of lunatic. The things God had showed me and done in my life seemed so vastly different from what others were teaching. I remember often thinking, "What am I, a nut?" As the Lord continued to minister to me I came to one conclusion: either I was vastly deceived and had lost my mind, or what I was experiencing was real. I also came to realize that I did not care which it was because I was full of joy and peace like had never known, and I would not surrender that for anything. Eventually God brought me other people who were like-minded, and in whom God had done a similar work, but it was only after almost three years of loneliness at a human level.

If you have radically fallen in love with Jesus and have experienced His amazing presence and peace, don't give up no matter how crazy you might think you are. Even though men reject you and your brothers and sisters in Christ think you have lost your mind, persevere. Paul had some very profound words regarding this in Galatians 1:7b-12.

"…but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. 10For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. 11But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

When you are feeling like you are losing your mind because of what God is revealing to you, don't give up. Look at Mark 3:21, John 7:20, Acts 12:15 and Acts 26:24 and remember that if you are accused of being crazy you are in good company. Listen to the voice of God and keep walking!
